We had a great discussion with Bill Hayes today. I nearly challenged him to Baptism again but the phone rang and destroyed the spirit. We got tubed* at nearly everything else. We did manage to find out that a few people weren’t really interested. Now we won’t waste time contacting them. We did tons of riding and I lost my scarf. Great dinner appointment. Good family.
We met with Cody (see 2/4)^ – she has a personality like mine. We really need the spirit strongly but deep down she knows it. We just need to help her trust her feelings. The spirit was there!!
*”Tubed” – we used that to mean “ditched,” or “stood up,” or “cancelled on.” I have no idea where that slang came from or what the current slang might be.
^I can’t imagine there are many instances where I would refer back to a prior entry in my original journal. That makes me wonder why I did that after a single discussion with Janet (as we would later learn Cody’s name to be).
