1 Nephi 9
Nephi now informs us that he wrote a more complete history upon other plates also called the plates of Nephi. He received a special commandment from the Lord to make these plates and keep a small history of sacred things.
He again exhibits faith by following that commandment. He says that Heavenly Father gave him that commandment “for a wise purpose in Him, which purpose I know not.” Without seeing why Npehi obeyed the commandment, he had faith in God that it was necessary. He says “But the Lord knoweth all things . . . He prepareth a way to accomplish all His works.”
