1 Nephi 12:6 – 13:10
Nephi sees Christ’s ministry to his seed. He is given to know the responsibilities of the 12 apostles and the 12 disciples of his seed. He is also told their relationship to each other. Next he is shown the generations following Christ’s visit even down until their final destruction. Nephi sees the people of the Gentiles including the formation of the great and abominable Church of the Devil.

From his description of that church we learn how the Devil operates.

The Devil seeks for worldly power and praise. He tries to appeal to the physical. Stimulate the Mortal – Physical – Carnal senses so that he can numb the Spiritual senses and after trapping the numbed spirits he can lead them down to Hell to be miserable like unto himself.

He makes the Carnal – Natural Man feel good. People think they feel joy and forget their spiritual side. he lulls them into Carnal Security and dulls the pains of their spirits while they focus on the Carnal senses. The people are miserable and he has fooled them into thinking they are happy. When they awaken to their true pain he coaxes them on with “it’s too late, forget about that and follow me.” It’s a pretty convincing argument when you really hurt down inside.
