1 Nephi 13: 11 – 42
Nephi sees the mission of Columbus. He sees the pilgrims and the Revolutionary War. Because he saw these things spiritually he easily recognized the hand of God helping the American Patriots in their struggle for Independence. Nephi saw the Bible among the Gentiles and is taught of its course to corruption. The same course that the Devil would like to bring all things of God through. It started out pure but was slowly changed until the contents were much deformed. The Iron Rod had been heated and bent a little – nobody noticed. It was again heated and bent some more. The process is repeated as often as Satan can get away with it. He would turn the Iron Rod which leads upward to eternal Life into a twisted spiral staircase descending into Hell!! Plan and precious truths were removed to Blind the eyes of men. The blindness causes men to stumble and allows Satan to lead them about where he chooses.
Next Nephi is shown God’s remedy for this problem. The plain and precious things will be given to the seed of Nephi. They will record them and later those records will be given tot he Gentiles to lift them out of blindness.
The records of Nephi will validate the records of the Jews. Each record supports the other record’s claims.
