There are two theories on human nature from the 16th or 17th century Europe, one is that people are basically good and can govern themselves and the other is that people area basically bad and need a strong dictator to lead them aright. I have never been able to reconcile myself to the second and here in scripture, Mosiah confirms the first as generally true.
