When the judges tallied the votes cast by each of the people, the voice of the people was found to be against the proposal to make Amlici their king. Those who voted against Amlici were very happy about the outcome, but Amlici began to stir up those who had voted to make him their king, so that they began to be angry with all those who had voted against making Amlici their king. this is the first, real, widespread social schism among the people of Nephi
