It has been an extremely busy four months. I finally got me graduation application signed for August graduation. That’s next week. In my last entry I said I was going to apply to three schools. I decided not to apply to Lehigh partly because of the high tuition of private schools. I decided at the last minute to apply to the University of Missouri – Columbia and Wayne State Univeristy in Detroit. I had one week to study for the GRE because of Missouri’s May 1st deadline for the application. I did so well on the GRE (800 Quantitative 640 Verbal and 4.5 analytical writing) that Andy suggested I ask USU to reconsider my application. By May 1 I had five options and was finishing some applications and waiting for responses. I had just finished another difficult semester and raised my USU GPA to a 3.0. One of my summer classes got dropped and I had to scramble to get an alternate. After five weeks of waiting I got a response – Virginia Tech accepted me. I had determined to choose by July 15th and hoped to go to Georgia. Georgia accepted me on July 14th but I had already settled on USU by then rather than move my family with our new baby. Alyssa Rose was born June 21st – she’s been a handfull and a joy. To complete this grad school saga – I got accepted to Missouri yesterday on the same day I accepted an assistantship in the FACT Center at USU.
