Alma 2:28
In preparation for the battle, the Nephites had prayed to the Lord and asked that he Strengthen them in their righteous course. The lord heard their prayers so that the overwhelming numbers of the Lamanites and Amlicites were met by the limitless and matchless power of the Lord and were driven back by the Nephites and did fall before them. Alma personally fought with Amlici and he prayed personally again that he might be preserved to be an instrument in the hands of the Lord to save the people of the Lord from the plots and schemes of men such as Amlici.
