Alma 4:3-4
The extent of loss from these wars was such that there was not a single person who did not feel it personally. The people saw the war and the devastation as judgements of God. They recognized their wickedness and they began to be awakened to the duties that they had been neglecting. They began more earnestly to establish the church of God in the land. Many people were baptized by the hand of Alma into the church. The waters of Sidon, which had washed away the bodies of their enemies, were now used in making the covenants by which they could personally be cleansed from sin.
