Alma 5:1-3
This is Alma’s own record of his missionary work. He began with the people of Zarahemla where he was and where the largest number of people were and then he worked his way out to other settlements. Alma begins by stating where he got his authority, which was from his father Alma. He then begins to recount how the church started in the days of his father and by the efforts of his father. He reminds people of their roots starting out when the church was formed in the land of Mormon on the outskirts of the settlement in the land of Nephi.
