Alma 5:6-7
This is an imortant question for all who have had the light of the gospel in their lives. It can profitably be asked at any time ?to act as a barometer for how we are doing at that time with the light that we have received. “Have ye sufficiently retained in remembrance the captivity of your fathersorbyour own previous captivityand have ye sufficiently retained in remembrance the Lord’s mercy and long-suffering towards the captive soul in awakening them from the sleep of death and the chains of destruction?” How easily are we prone to forget that without the light of the Word our souls stand and perish in darkness?
