I can sum up all the questions that Alma asks here into a single question. “Have you done as your fathers did to obtain salvation?” While that is nice and compact, its only value is to add context to Alma’s many questions. His questions are more specific and important than my single query. “Have you spiritually been born of God? Do you have His image in your countenance? Have you experienced a change in your hearts? Do ye look forward with faith for redemption and resurrection?” We need to come to the point where we can respond affirmatively to each of those questions.
