Mosiah 3: 12-17
One beautiful thing about the plan of salvation, which I had known but not noticed particularly, is that it is designed not only to save all who will be saved, but it is adapted so that all will have the greatest opportunity for their personal capacity. In other words, each nation shall have the gospel in their own tongue. Those, such as children, who are not accountable due to their own lack of development (through no fault of their own) shall be treated as if they were without sin. The children of Israel were given a strict law because that was best for a stiffnecked people such as they were. It was not a punishment, but an aid to them if they would use it as such. That is why Nephi could declare that the Jews understood the words of Isaiah because he gave his words to them, even if those words were not so plain to others. The reason that Christ is the only name whereby men can receive salvation is because the salvation he offers is tailored to the knowledge and capacity of every person.
