Mosiah 9: 1-2
I had never realized before that the people who went back to live in the land of Nephi (the first group) went for the intent of destroying the Lamanites and taking back their city by force. When Amaleki talked about them I always imagined a group more like the one that Zeniff lead who were intent on making a treaty with the Lamanites. Now I realize that Zeniff got his idea only after seeing that the Lamanites had some good among them. Prior to that the whole idea was to come with a large army to drive the Lamanites out of the land and reclaim their inheritance, as if they had forgotten that Mosiah had been commanded by the Lord to depart.
