Mosiah 26: 33-39
It is interesting to think that the worst punishment that is given in the church is to remove a person’s name from the records of the church. Any more severe punishment is left to the secular authorities. Alma wrote the words of the Lord so that he might judge the people according to the instructions of the Lord. He then went and passed that judgment which had been prescribed, removing the names of those who would not confess and forsake their sins. In the midst of continuing persecutions there were many who were converted and baptized into the church.
