I wonder if the Nephites would have been commanded to abandon their lands to the Gadiantons if the Gadiantons had settled the land instead of attacking. I do find it interesting that they were commanded when pursuing the Gadiantons to stop their pursuit at the edge of the wilderness and to kill all Gadiantons they caught before that point.
