In some ways the battles between the Nephites and the Lamanites. To those who were not sensitive to the Lord there would be little difference at all, but those who were sensitive to the whisperings of the Spirit, such as Mormon, the outcome of these wars was easy to predict and quite different from the outcome of previous wars where the people might still have chosen to repent (or where they were already righteous, which was rarely the case when they faced war).
