Mosiah 25 – 26
When Mosiah wanted to bring different groups together as a single people he started by reading the records of all the groups. When one group would desire to join another group they should start be becoming familiar with the group they wish to join. I think that we should apply that to immigration – language would not be so important as studying some basic texts on the constitution and Amerian history before citizenship could be granted. The same thing should be true of our children. Much like the rising generation under Mosiah, who could not understand the words of Benjamin, our children cannot be expected to follow our ideals simply by reason of their birth.
