Alma 22
“I will insist that ye shall administer unto me.” That’s what we call a golden contact. Lamoni’s father had been prepared to listen with his heart to the words of these servants of the Lord. It is interesting that the king would allows the Amalekits to build synagogues, but their claim of the existence of God did not convince him. The actions of Ammon and the words of Aaron were more convincing to him. The king was willing to give Ammon half of his kingdom to spare his life, but he was later willing to give up all of his kingdom to save his soul. The gift he willingly gave, which was necessary, was to give away all his sins. When the queen started calling to gather the people Aaron knew that he must act because he had partaken of the malice of the Lamanites. This experience ended to public opposition to the preaching of the sons of Mosiah. After this anything they suffered was expressly against the position of the leader of the Lamanites.
