The actions of the more popular members of the Zoramite society are a perfect demonstration of how democracy and the will of the people can be subverted. They hide their intentions until after they know the will of the people and then they divide the people and cast off one small piece and then another until they have cast out all those who disagree with them, even if that is a majority of the original people.
