I wonder if the same instructions and counsel were given to all the record keepers as Alma gave to Helaman? I know that Joseph received the same warning and promise that if he did all in his power the records would be preserved, but if we slackened his efforts the Lord would take the plates and deliver him to the buffetings of the adversary.
I notice that Alma stopped what he was saying to Helaman when he started to venture into doctrine of which he was not yet fully certain lest he speak falsely.
It is interesting that we must nourish the tree of faith until the fruit is ripe, the same deadline is in place for our sins, if we nourish them unto ripeness, then are we cut off as we partake of that ripened fruit.
I wonder if Nephi’s bow broke during a time of wandering when their group was not paying strict heed to the Liahona.
