I wonder what the rebels did to “daunt our freemen that they have not come to you.” Did they attempt to convince the people that the war was going well, or did they threaten that the safety of the families they left behind would be compromised if they went to fight?

I wonder what made it so that Pahoran doubted the righteousness of going to battle against the Nephite rebels who had taken control of Zerahemla.
