I just realized how young Helaman likely was when he got the records. I have a hard time believing that Alma was a grandfather when he obtained the judgment seat. If he was not already a grandfather then Helaman, his grandson, would have less than 37 years old when he took charge of the sacred records. Sometime I should map out whatever ages/dates I know to see how clear a picture is recorded.
