For some reason i had never before paid attention to the fact that we are told that Jared and his brother brought records from the old land to the new land. also, the cunning of the daughter of Jared – she picked Akish because she already knew that he would do what she told Jared to ask – although she might have been surprised when Akish ended up killing Jared later. Akish may even have helped her seek out the old oaths prior to her talking to her father and may have helped her formulate the plan. Her dancing for him was an excuse to ask for her hand in marriage. I guess we are told that Jared’s daughter put it into his heart and that Jared put it into the heart of Akish – perhaps she knew through her own allegiance to Satan how things would transpire.
When we celebrate such secret combination in our entertainment (The Soprano’s) we must be ripening.
