I wonder how much of the proper workings of the church Moroni ever saw. By the time he was born the Nephites were in full rebellion against the gospel of Christ. I guess there were still some faithful Nephites – after all, we know that Moroni was called as a leader among them because his father counseled him in his duties and the disputations they were having concerning the baptism of children.
