D&C 29
The first shall be last and the last shall be first. This is a well used phrase, but I just saw a new instance of it. First spiritual and then temporal at the beginning of His work, and first temporal and second spiritual at the end of His work. This could refer to the beginning of his work where man was created spiritually first and then temporally (physically). At the end of the earth he has created a temporal church, but the spiritual church is still forming in the hearts of men. Also, it could indicate that men will receive temporal atonement (resurrection) before spiritual atonement (judgement) in reflection of the fact that men die spiritually through sin before they die physically.
