I wonder if this pattern has changed at all in the last 170 years. For example, is the First Presidency still involved in the day-to-day disposition of tithing or do they leave that almost exclusively to the Presiding Bishopric? Not that it really matters – I am sure that tithing is handled today in a way that the Lord would approve of.
