While studying for my Sunday School lesson I have been thinking about taking the Book of Mormon into our hearts and making it part of who we are. Really it is the message of Christ as recorded in the Book of Mormon. I keep thinking about the pickling process that Elder Bednar talked about in conference about two years ago. I realized how we can all be one in Christ in the celestial kingdom and yet retain our individuality. Pickling makes all cucumbers the same – except that it does not change their size or shape. Pickling different foods in the same kind of brine produces uniform changes in all those foods, but it does not make them all into the same pickle. Being one in Christ means that we have each undergone the mighty change of heart because we have immersed ourselves in the brine of his love and tender mercy until we have become new creatures who feel to sing the song of redeeming love.
