Moroni 7
When the people again divided into Nephites and Lamanites after the coming of the Savior the Npehites were those who still practiced and believed the gospel taught by the Savior. By the time they were destroyed very few of the Nephites believed or practiced those teachings. I wonder if Mormon was trying to encourage and teach many “social Nephites” by describing the few who were honest in heart in this talk. If that is the case, some who had been too much of the world might have been stirred to be more dedicated in their professed faith rather than allowing themselves to be pulled deeper into the world of sin around them.

The more i think about it, the more convinced I am that the attendance last week in Elders quorum was small because my lesson was not meant for general consumption. Those in attendance – so far as I could tell – were the cream of the crop and the most prepared for the things we discussed (none of the youngest elders were there as I recall).
