Articles of Faith
Here is the core of LDS theology in one page. That theology consists in a belief in a godhead composed of three individuals, a life based on personal responsibility, a Savior who is accessible to everyone, but who will not force himself upon us, and a path that begins with faith in Christ, repentance, baptism, and the gift of the Holy Ghost bestowed by the laying on of hands. It includes a kingdom of orderly transmission and exercise of authority combined with individual gifts and talents spread throughout the population. It declares our belief in both a stable, written canon of scripture and in continued guidance from a Heavenly Father who is engaged with His creation. We also believe in the literal fulfillment of prophecy, specifically concerning the gather in of Israel and the building of Zion. Our theology is one that values harmony with those who don’t share in it and supports our government institutions while actively pursuing all that is worthwhile around us.
