1 Nephi 19
The story of the crossing almost certainly was truncated in this record as repetitious. It was after they arrived in the promised land that Nephi first was commanded to make plates and keep a record. In the first record he might have told thw howl story of the crossing. I’m sure the Lord made the two commandments separately so that Nephi could practice keeping a record before focusing on the spiritual things in the small plates.
Why had I never noticed that it was specifically that portion of the House of Israel who were at Jerusalem at the time of Christ who would be hated among all nations.
