I am reminded again that Benjamin is speaking about the path to Celestial exaltation. He is speaking to a people with enough spiritual information and understanding to make covenants.
Yes must repent of your sins – in other words decide that you would not have made the sinful choices if you had the chance again – and forsake them – in other words do not make those choices again when the chances arise.
