Mosiah 21 – 22
I wonder if the Lamanites began to exercise their authority over the Nephites under Limhi because unlike their king they did not fully accept the explanation regarding their daughters. Once the Nephites had humbled themselves (after being thrice defeated in battle) the Lamanites began to be a little less cruel. It was after Ammon had arrived and told the story of Benjamin’s final address as king that the people of Limhi were ready to covenant with the Lord as the people of Alma and Mosiah had done. By now they had also accepted that they could not live on equal terms with the Lamanites in this land and that they must depart if they wished to become free.
