Alma 28 – 29
I had the feeling that Alma was writing the summary of the mission of the sons of Mosiah among the Lamanites (the style felt different from Mormon’s summaries throughout the book) and then as chapter 29 opens with the words of Alma I knew that he had written these two chapters together. He is specifically wishing that he could go among nations like his friends and not simply among the Nephites – then he realizes that the work he has been doing for the last fourteen years is every bit as important as the work they have been doing. Alma knew at least as well as anyone else that the Lord grants unto all their true desires, whether they desire righteousness or wickedness – he was given the explicit choice by the angel.
