Alma 34 – 35
Amulek teaches the people that they must exercise faith in the Son of God and that the way to do that is to pray continually. He then admonished them not to procrastinate and try to repent “tomorrow” thus cultivating a heart that is slow to heed the word of the Lord. I think that Amulek felt that he had procrastinated his own repentance for years before he took Alma into his house.
In Ammonihah those who believed Alma and Amulek were driven out of the city while the missionaries were cast into prison. In Antionum, the Zoramites were more sophisticated. The missionaries were allowed to leave on their own and then the leading Zoramites polled the people to know who favored what had been taught – then they cast those believers from among them and made threats against the people of Ammon for taking them in.
