Isn’t it ironic that Ammoron would say that the ancestors of Moroni robbend the ancestors of the Lamanites of their to govern the people – his brother Amalikiah did exactly that and he is ruling because of that deception and usurpation. Ammoron has claimed Zoram as his ancestor (rejecting Nephi) and twisted the truth, that Zoram chose to come with Nephi and was a true friend to Nephi, in order to pretend to some allegiance to the Lamanites. I’m sure that Laman (the ex-guard of the murdered rightful king of the Lamanites) was an active participant in the planning of his mission – perhaps helping to craft a story that the guards were likely to accept (“Lazy Nephites fall asleep on duty and where wine is available we will always take and partake.”)
