Following up on yesterday – Laura called me home from work because she was worried about the continued stream of water. I got hoses siphoning off the water and then returned to work after lunch. Once I got home from work I went straight to work on trying to fix the problem. I discovered that it is necessary to open the valve at the filter in order to remove all pressure from other irrigation valves in the system – after that I could actually work on the problem. As it was Back to School night I was on my own with the kids while trying to fix the pipes. It took until almost 10:00pm but I got everything working with a new spigot and full PVC for the last sprinkler valve. Hopefully this will be the last irrigation project for a while (not counting the drainage hose that I still have to bury on the northwest side of the house).
