We got most of the reports into Kronos today – not before a few of the users started missing them. It was interesting to learn more about the naming conventions – the fact that they are different between one-time scripts and scripts creating database objects. We should have the rest of the reports deployed before I leave after half a day of work tomorrow. I failed to mention yesterday that Ted Kennedy died – it was practically the only thing in the news all day. I’ve been thinking about him a lot today because he was a very hard working Senator and he learned how to compromise to get legislation without compromising his principles. The reason that causes me to reflect is that I would very much like the opportunity to be as principled, hard-working, and effective on the conservative side – whether in the Senate or the House – as he was on the liberal side. I would like to see other conservatives emulate his unwavering devotion to principle with the same work ethic that allowed him to reach out to people of all political persuasions and work constructively with them.
