All of today was full of anticipation over what my interview would be about tonight. It was a very pleasant interview. President Eggett was quick to let me know that the interview was just a chance to get to know me. He let me know that he was just doing homework for the stake presidency and that Bishop Tueller had told them that they might be interested in talking to me. I very much enjoyed the prayer that President Eggett offered as we opened the interview – he obviously has great feeling for the Savior and the work He is engaged in. He asked about my family (including how strong my marriage was right now), my job (including how secure it is in this economy), my past church callings, and then asked me to bear my testimony – specifically about priesthood service. The interview took over half an hour. I don’t know what future changes they are thinking about, but I really like the thought that they are wanting to know about me – it confirms my thoughts that I am making an impression here.
