Interestingly today seems like a blank slate for me. I can remember what I did, but it was just a day. We did move the baby gerbils (not really babies any more) into their own cage as they are now old enough to warrant being separated from their parents. It’s a larger cage so I built a platform to give them a second level over much of the cage – it’s fun to watch them run around.
Actually, as I write I notice a theme for the day “if there is anything virtuous, lovely, of good report, or praiseworthy we seek after these things. (VLGRP)” I referenced a great video on YouTube today in a blog post. On the sidebar where YouTube shows supposedly related videos there was a video that was obviously not any of those things (VLGRP) I felt the tug of “why not click on it and see what it actually shows – they would not allow anything truly explicit on YouTube” I thought of VLGRP and as soon as I was done with the video that I was referencing I closed the tab – end of temptation. Later in the evening I was going to grab videos for a family movie night and I was listening to the radio only to discover that the subject of discussion was about the vice gap – the perception that other’s are having more fun because of gambling and other social vices than you are – as soon as I got an actual reference on what they were talking about I could tell that there was nothing VLGRP in the discussion so I turned the radio off. I think I am becoming more sensitive to those issues and hopefully I will continue to find it easier and easier to turn off anything that is neither necessary nor VLGRP
