We took an idea from General Conference and implemented it today. When President Monson was interviewed before his birthday and a reporter asked him what members of the church could give him he suggested that them going to serve others would be a great present. Apparently many groups took it upon themselves to not only do that, but them report back to him. One such report back was a primary where the children put “warm fuzzies” (craft pom poms) in a jar for each act of service they did. We decided that we should do the same thing (not necessarily to send the jar to President Monson). The plan is that each person has their own color of pom poms and each act of service gets a pom pom in the jar. Once the jar is filled we will paste a sticker with the date on the jar and empty it – returning the pom poms to their individual bags and starting again to fill the jar. Eventually I hope to introduce a competitive element of trying to fill it by a certain date.
