We went to IKEA for a free breakfast today and to celebrate that Mariah was finally tall enough to to get into Smaland. The breakfast was good, but although Mariah is 37 inches, even on their 37 inch line on the wall, their stick (the official measure) is apparently closer to 37.5 inches. We went to Cabellas instead and played in a shooting gallery and fed their fish (and watched as they fed other fish in their aquarium). It was fun and I discovered that I can get my Leatherman fixed because it has a 25 year warranty. I also looked at guns. I have concluded that if I finally decide to get a gun for preparedness purposes the first order of business is to have a gun that can be used to provide for my family and to that end I lean toward an inexpensive 50 caliber rifle rather than trying to get a $500 handgun (although if self defense becomes a primary objective a handgun would definitely be in order).

The rest of the day was slow as Laura took a nap and then ran errands. While she was out she got a call from the stake executive secretary to set an interview for me (with her) tomorrow at 8:30am. That will be interesting. We got to go see West Side Story done by Bountiful High for a date.
