The brother of Shiblom may not have cared one way or the other about the prophets, he was trying to gain the favor of the people by joinin them in seeking to destroy the prophets. We are not told about what Shiblom did in response to the prophets but my assumption has always been that he was generally on their side – either he or his father (depending on whether than assumption is correct) was the last ruler to listen to the propets in any degree. (Not counting that Coriantumr listened to Ether and then ignored him.)
