Enoch slept relatively well last night as Laura and I had him sleeping with us. In one stretch he slept four hours with no more need than the occasional binky adjustment. He had Laura up from 5 – 6 AM and then I got up at 7AM when he woke up again. I fed him and he was back asleep before 8AM but I stayed awake. I allowed Laura to sleep in until 10AM and Enoch did not wake up until after 11AM. The morning accelerated when Susie Becker offered to take the kids out to Lunch and let Laura and I have a break. They left at 11:30 and Laura worked on her journal entry for the day of Enoch’s birth while I went to Texas Roadhouse for a Sunday School class party. It was a good time and I got to talk to Mindy Wilson about her son who I will be trying to help through the Elder’s Quorum. When I got home from the party (and a brief shopping trip for size D batteries) I expected to find Laura tired after having the kids alone for an hour – instead I found her still working on her journal with Enoch sleeping on her arm and the kids still out with Sister Becker. After they finally got home I raked the leaves in the back yard and then let the kids play in the leaves for an hour or so before I finally bagged the leaves. I think this day turned out to be just the low-key day that each of us needed. I have high hopes that we may know how to get Enoch sleeping for longer stretches at night – sleep him in a laundry basket and make sure he’s not completely in the dark.
