Genesis 42
It is interesting that Jacob told Reuben that he considered Simeon to be as dead as Joseph because he was in prison in Egypt and that he expected Benjamin to die as well if they took him. He would take no consolation in the idea that he could kill Reuben’s two sons as recompense if Benjamin was lost. He declared that he would die of grief if that happened.
