2 Nephi 5 – 6
Laman and Lemuel completely failed to understand that killing the current leader of the people, Nephi in this case, would never be the same as actually earning the respect of those they hoped to lead.
Jacob reminds the people that he was consecrated by Nephi to be a teacher but in doing so I remember that before his death Lehi told Jacob that his days would be spent in the service of God.
Jacob says that he is sharing what Nephi wanted him to share. I wonder if Nephi asked him to share this because he had just finished writing those words of Isaiah in these small plates.
There will obviously be great pressure to join with the great and abominable church so that only those who actively choose not to join it shall remain separate and ready to receive the promised blessings.
