Mosiah 21 – 22
I wonder if the Lamanites were frustrated by having Nephites living so close – is that why they started afflicting them despite the promises of the king? Perhaps they were trying to goad the people of Limhi into retaliation so that they would have excuse to kill some of them. It worked.
The people must have felt that they were fighting two enemies simultaneously – the Lamanites who drove them like beasts and exacted taxes of half of everything they raised, and the priests of Noah who got the Lamanites stirred up against them and then stole part of what they were able to produce.
I would not be surprised to learn that Mosiah named his first son Ammon after the Ammon who led the group from Zerahemla to find the people of Limhi.
