Alma 44 – 45
I’m sure that Zerahemnah grew angry as Moroni spoke because without the spirit Moroni’s words would sound arrogant rather than simply true. As a pragmatist, Zerahemnah delivered up his weapons despite his anger but refused to make an oath because of his anger.

When the people upon this land turn their backs upon righteousness the land cannot produce its plenty for them. When we see widespread drought and lack of agricultural productionit is evidence of widespread wickedness among the people%u2014although the correlation between who is wicked and who suffers from the lack of plenty will not be perfect.

On those rare occasions when the Lord takes people unto himself without their tasting of death (Moses, Elijah, Alma) I’ll bet they live in the city of Enoch and share in the blessings there until they shall be changed in a twinkling in the Millenium.
