Is being redeemed from the fall, as the brother of Jared has here been declared to be, essentially the same as having his calling and election made sure? I would initially think the answer was “yes” but Joseph Smith was also brought back into the presence of the Lord (which is the mark of being redeemed from the fall) at the age of fourteen and while I have no doubt that he is exalted I very mch doubt if his calling and election were sure at that young age.
Either the two stones which the Lord gave the brother of Jared were in addition to the 16 or else those were the two stones that lit the barge he traveled in across the ocean.
I might wonder if the promise of the Lord to show unto the Gentiles all that he had shown to the brother of Jared if they will repent applies to individuals. To some degree it must because the Lord does not show such things unto any who are wicked and whatever degree the Gentiles believe I have no doubt that it will not be all of the Gentiles.
