If I knew anything of the majority of the places mentioned here this would make a lot more sense. This record of the specific places of inheritance seems very technical and without any modern application. I wonder if the inheritances described here were only the already conquered areas or if they extended over the as yet unconquered lands of promise. Everything here is just the inheritance of Judah. I wonder how large ancient Israel was really meant to be. Judah here is given 112 cities.
